A Successful FCC Spectrum Auction!

The recently completed auction of nationwide paging and interactive TV licenses held by the FCC was apparently a big success. It raised several hundred million dollars for our debt ridden country's treasury. But does this kind of "rule by the richest" best serve the public interest? I don't think so! At SSS, we're all for the little guy -- the disadvantaged, the homeless, etc. and because of this we think that valuable RF spectrum should not be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Wouldn't it be better if worthy causes (like schools, universities, the Red Cross, local search and rescue squads, etc.) got first rights to use our valuable RF spectrum, without paying fortunes to benefit who knows what?

Please notice our back cover this issue -- it tells about our new subscriber BONUS program. AS a new subscriber (or renewal) you will receive a copy of SSScalc, a new windows program from Arden Technologies Inc. (a $49.95 value) for RF communications system design -- for the annual subscription rate of $24.95 US / $35.00 Foreign.
